A house of art since 1913
From brickworks to museum
The building went up in 1872 as a brickworks. When production stopped, the town’s painters turned it into an exhibition space in 1913 — and it has not closed since.
Today it holds more than 4,000 works, from 16th-century paintings to contemporary installations.
